Postcard ‘Wat een wonder’

A postcard with a sweet little twinkling star and a poem, which you could translate as:

Isn’t it wondrous
how something so small
can be the most
wonderful thing of all

I originally made this card as a christmas card, because well, isn’t that what’s the story of Christmas is all about? About the birth of a teeny tiny seemingly unimportant baby, that eventually ends up transforming people in all kinds of ways.

But no, this card is not merely about Christmas. It’s also about our everyday life, here and now. About paying attention to the small things, because it might actually be the small and fragile things that carry the most grandeur, wonder and beauty.

So feel free to use this postcard in whatever way you like 🙂

I originally drew this illustration with India ink and liquid water colour and finished the design digitally. It’s printed on nice and firm Biotop paper (which is made of wood leftovers!). The size is 10,5 x 15 cm, just like a ‘normal’ postcard. On the back there’s room for a lovely message and the address of the receiver.
